We are proud to partner with UK International Soccer (UKISC), the company that runs our summer soccer camps, to provide coaches with additional training. The PDOs are professional soccer trainers from the UK who work alongside the volunteer coaches (U7 and older) to provide guidance and support throughout the season. The most common way that the PDO can be beneficial is by working alongside the coach at the practice session and demonstrating how the training should be conducted based on the theme. Support will also be provided through Coaching Clinics, Player Clinics, Match Analysis, e-mail correspondence, and through UKISC's custom designed online curriculum. So whether you are an experienced coach looking for some new ideas or a brand-new coach not sure where to start, the PDO can help.
Please make use of our PDOs this season. You and your players will be glad you did!
How do coaches find out about clinics, etc?
Keep your eyes on your email! The PDOs will be sending regular updates to your inbox during the season to keep you up to date with the PDO program. In addition, check back here regularly for all information updates.
PDO rules
- The PDOs will be in one location, Sequoia Middle School, Field 'A'. You must arrange to bring your team to them. Only in very special circumstances will a PDO travel to another field.
- U5 and U6 teams cannot book a session with the PDOs as they do not have mid-week practices in the same way as the other teams do.
- You can only book a practice session during the week, not on weekends.
- Practice sessions will be limited to one hour long unless with a U14, U16 or U19 team, or in special circumstances.
- Please make your requests at least two to three days in advance to allow time for the PDOs to respond.
- Please remember that in case of a scheduling conflict, younger age division teams will be given priority. A U10 team will have scheduling priority over a U16 or U19 team.
- Please include in your request what soccer topics you would like the PDO to cover.
- Coaches may reserve up to four sessions per team.
Scheduling
Please see the scheduling calendar to find open session times.
Housing
The young lads who comprise the UK International Soccer PDOs need housing! When working here in the US, they stay in the communities that they teach in. Would you be willing to provide a room for one of these coaches for a week or more, beginning September 10, 2017? We've had a number of families who have done so in the past, and they will happily verify that it's great fun. For details, please contact Glenn and Roxanne Phillips.
